C-0300
Return Path Amplifier

The C-0300 is a return path amplifier that provides 15dB of gain in the frequency range between 5-42 MHz. While many amplifiers are “Bi-directional” they typically allow signals to pass back to the cable company without amplifying them. In some cases this is not a problem, but in larger systems the insertion loss of splitters may prevent signals that are transmitted by your interactive cable box from returning to the cable company. This problem may prevent your cable box from working properly. The C-0300 works to supplement an existing distribution system. It only amplifies signals in the return path and allows signals in the forward direction to pass through with minimal attenuation.

Typical Application

The C-0300 provides enough return path gain to compensate for the loss created by a typical 16-way RF splitter. Without it, large RF distribution systems may experience problems when using interactive cable boxes.

C-0330
CVT-2/8PIA-III
Bi-directional Amplified Splitter

The C-0330 and CVT-2/8PIA-III are 8-output amplified splitters with a built-in combiner for modulated signals. They allow IR signals to pass through the modulator input to the TV outputs, making them a perfect match for the E2200IR, E3200IR or E4200IR.

Basic Amplified Splitter Application
Connect the C-0330 and locate it at the main distribution point in the house. The C-0330 will supply the amplified TV signal to 8 TV locations.

Large System Amplified Splitter Application
The C-0330 can be cascaded for situations that require more than 8 outputs. Each of the 8 outputs of the C-0330 can feed the input of an additional C-0330 creating a system with 64 TV outputs.
Use a total of 9 C-0330s to achieve 64 TV outputs.

Cascaded Application with IR Control
The IR engine built into the E2200IR, E3200IR, and E4200IR can support up to 8 TV locations with IR receivers. When expanding to more rooms an IR-4000 can be used to power 8 additional IR receivers. This design can support up to 15 TVs and 15 IR receivers. Note: any TV location that does not have IR receiver needs to be DC blocked using model 3109.

Using the C-0330 with the Affinity (P-0321)
The C-0330 can be integrated with the P-0321 to send modulated signals through a system that has some TVs with digital cable boxes and some TVs without digital cable boxes. An RF filter can be used to remove the digital content from the TVs that do not have digital boxes. This allows modulated channels to be inserted without inference problems. The P-0321 preserves the digital content for the locations that do not have digital boxes. Additional details regarding the operation of the Affinity model P-0321 can be found in its installation manual.
