Costa Mesa, Calif., December 22, 2005 - Channel Vision Technology will introduce its new A0312 iPod Wall Dock for Distributed Audio and Video at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nev., January 5-8, 2006. The A0312 is the newest addition to the company’s line of distributed audio and video accessories for the wildly popular Apple iPod digital music player.

Although designed for portable music enjoyment, more and more iPod users are beginning to use their digital music players in the home; their tunes routed through a variety of tabletop or freestanding audio devices. With this in mind, Channel Vision will showcase its new A0312 iPod Wall Dock for Distributed Audio and Video that offers affordable, effortless integration into nearly any multi-room, multi-source audio/video system.

"Our new A0312 Wall Dock offers users the greatest amount of flexibility when it comes to integrating their iPods into a whole-home audio system," said Darrel Hauk, CEO and president of Channel Vision Technology. "With its stylish, decorator design wall plate, audio and video playback capabilities, and compatibility with most home audio systems, the A0312 takes iPod enjoyment to the next level."

Its decorator style wall dock and support ledge, with integrated dock connectors, slides in and out easily, remaining unobtrusive when not in use. The wall dock includes three support clips for securing the iPod to the wall dock. The ledge holds the iPod at an angle allowing for easy reading of the iPod’s LCD display when the dock is installed at light switch level. In addition to audio output, the wall dock also provides a S-video and composite video output that supports iPod Photo and iPod Video playback to a local TV. The A0312 Wall Dock accommodates and charges all Apple iPods with dock connectors:

  • iPod Video
  • iPod Nano
  • iPod Photo
  • iPod Mini
  • 4th Generation iPod with dock connector
  • 3rd Generation iPod with dock connector

  • A0312 "Channel Vision’s iPod Wall Docks provide, easy, stylish, high quality, whole-house or zone-specific audio output of iPod tunes," said Hauk. "When used with a multi-room and multi-source audio system, you can listen to your favorite iPod tunes in one room, while others listen to their iPod tunes in other rooms; all at the same time, all through the same audio system."

The output wall plate provides audio outputs for connection to an amplifier and an IR input for connection to an IR receiver making it compatible with both the Apple remote and the Channel Vision A0501 remote. Connecting each wall dock to an IR receiver offers handy household-wide control with the same play and search functions found on the iPod.

Channel Vision’s iPod Wall Dock pre-conditions the line level audio output from the iPod so it can be delivered long distances over a Cat 5 cable to the dock’s output wall plate. The wall dock uses active drive circuitry, therefore improving the noise immunity and maintaining solid signal quality ensuring the best possible listening experience.

For installers, the iPod Wall Dock is:

  • Easy to install
  • Easy to sell
  • Affordable at $275 MSRP. (A0501 IR remote control is an additional accessory).

  • "Compared to tabletop iPod players and other iPod wall docks, our iPod wall docks are small and inconspicuous," said Hauk. "Other iPod in-wall docks leave a conspicuous empty hole where an iPod goes."

The A0312 is Channel Vision’s second wall dock for whole-house distribution of iPod digital music. The company recently introduced its new AB-311 iBus iPod Wall Dock for A-BUS® whole-house audio systems. Like the A0312, the AB-311 is a local input module that supports any pre-wired A-BUS multi-room audio system over Cat 5 cabling.
