| My system is not working, I tried cutting the receiver wires to extend the system, what should I do? |
| Asked by Dennis | Apr 27, 2010 15:22 |
| Best Answer It is not recommended to cut the 3 terminal wire of the receiver head. Cutting the wires will not let the IR signal to pass through functionally. If you wish to extend the wires, the IR emitter flasher connectors can be extended with CAT5 wiring.
If IR signal needs to be pass through of about 1000 ft, you can use a different kind of system which would be an IR-2400 (IR receiver) and a IR-1203 (IR Hub). |

| I have an IR-5000, and it’s not working with my Scientific Atlanta Box? |
| Asked by Dennis | Apr 27, 2010 15:47 |
| Best Answer Things to check/troubleshoot:
1 Make sure IR-5000 power led is lit.
2 Check if IR Receiver head is well connected to the main hub of the system.
3 Check if IR emitter connecter is good and passing IR Signal to the controlled device. Check if emitter head is properly attached directly over the Scientific Atlanta’s IR Receiver.
4 Check Serial Number and call technical support to verify if product is needed to be upgraded/repaired.
